ART AT KING GEORGE'S FIELD
Appreciating our important community green spaces through art
KING GEORGE'S PROJECT AT A GLANCE
There are growing bodies of evidence to show that being outdoors and engaging with nature, and interaction with the arts can both make a significant difference to people’s mental health and general wellbeing.
The shared experience of art can also alter how we interact with the rest of our community; artistic interpretations encourage conversation, interaction, investigation and play. Sparked curiosity and a sense of wonder stimulates the brain and ‘reward system’, so the experience of art in the outdoors it is great for positive mental health.
The various projects that will take place on and around King Georges fields aim to to spark a deeper interest in the nature at the site, because, when we take more interest in nature we begin to feel more connected to it, and consequently take more responsibility for it. The health and wellbeing of our green spaces has a direct effect on human health and wellbeing so it is vital that we all do what we can to support and cherish them.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
